Description

The National Palaces Paintings Museum (Turkish: Milli Saraylar Resim Müzesi) is an art museum located in Istanbul, Turkey. It was inaugurated in the residence of the Crown Prince at Dolmabahçe Palace in 2014. The museum exhibits a collection of approximately 200 pieces of paintings from Turkish and international palaces, funded by the Turkish Parliament (TBMM).

The historical building that hosts the museum was previously the headquarters of the Istanbul Museum of Arts and Sculptures, established by the order of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the first President of Turkey, in 1937. It was part of the Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts. The building was renovated between 2010 and 2014 to transform it into a museum housing artworks from the 19th and early 20th centuries, primarily collected from Ottoman dynasty palaces.

The museum's collection includes over 200 paintings displayed in 11 sections, featuring works by Turkish artists from the period between 1870 and 1930. The museum also serves as a venue for exhibiting paintings by court painters such as Stanisław Chlebowski and Fausto Zonaro, who served Sultan Abdulaziz and Sultan Abdul Hamid II.
